Pics in email?

I didn't know where else to post this, so I figured this was kind of the website/html support group... lol

I have slight experience with html...
however, am having a hell of a time posting pics in my email messages.
I have email flyers I send out on a regular basis, and would like to include
a pic here and there..
How do I do it?
I tried several ways, but it seems to just show up as a link, instead of a picture.
