I don't know where to post this but I am hoping for some tips on where to stay in venice. I may get a chance in april to go to venice and am on a budget.
I don't know the best places to visit for glass tools and to see workshops.
Is there a thread somewhere with some of the information?
Anyone got tips for me?
I am trying to not get overexcited as it is far from definite.
BTW, here is a pic of venice in the ice blast hitting europe this week-

If you are going to be there in April, you must contact Ofilia Cinta. She's Ofilia here on LE and is the guru of all things Venice, as well as the organizer of the most amazing Venice adventures. She is going to be there at that time.

I see you found the main thread, but here's a few more to whet your appetitie. I went on Ofilia's trip last May and it was the trip of a lifetime - I posted in several of those threads about it.

This is the main "When in Venice" thread:

Sharon Peters' threads on Venice:

The Carlo Dona tool thread that has lots of Venice photos:

I'll be happy to answer any specific questions as well - fire away!

Hi Laurie, I'd be more than happy to chat Murano with you.

One site I like for finding housing is this one: http://www.venere.com/italy/venice/?ref=9115

I'll email you and find out your dates. Could be we may still have an apartment available. The primary 5 are taken by our students, but there are other options.

Be sure to read all the threads on "When in Venice" and the Carlo Dona tool one. There's a lot about places to visit on there already. I still feel that I've only just begun to touch the surface of things to discover in Venice and Murano.

Parlamo dopo.
