National 3A-B with Gas/Air Mix

Aloha Everyone,

I think I am going to buy a National 3A-B Torch and I will be running it with a Gas/Air mix. My questions are;

What types of glass can I work with? (Will this set up burn soft glass? Will it be too weak for Boro?)

I need to use the N-tips but which N-tips work best with what types of glass?

I can say with compressed o2 the national will melt boro just fine. Soft glass on o2 tanks I don't think works very well...the national is a premix type torch and generally boils soft glass. Now with just air it may do soft glass, I have no experience running one like this. I don't think boro would work at all. O2 is expensive in hawaii, I assume that is why you are looking into air feeding, maybe consider a concentrator with a minor, bobcat, or mini CC. This will probably make you alot happier.
