HELP

Hello lampworkers.

Does anyone know how this gem is made. I think technique or tutorial.
The bead is form Trollbeds and the name is unique lovely pink braid, but it can be other collors. It is like BRAID-pattern.
Thank you. Devana

no help here, but good luck finding it

It looks like dots on alternating sides and then a *small* gravity swirl. I've done that kind of design that way before.

I think Meliisa is right, but the base bead needs to be a disk so that the dots will spread like that......

Oh, Devana, gorgeous apple beadie! I've seen this technique before; can you possibly give us a link to where the tutorial is available? :)

Reenie 2013-02-18 9:48pm

Jim Smirech??? has an apple core bead but made it as a bicone. You might find it on youtube

Melinda 2013-02-18 9:54pm

I believe Jim was the original apple core bead maker.

Jim Smircich did the technique originally, he's got a tutorial out there somewhere I think.

Yes, it's Jim's technique.

In post 6 she mentions trying out the apple core bead instead.

AVTrout 2013-10-13 5:58pm

Ahhh. I missed that. I kept coming back to this thread b/c I've seen those woven type beads and wondered myself.

Pink braid bead

Just found this thread from a few years back. I've been interested in the braid technique, headed out to the studio to experiment in a few minutes.

kansassky 2016-02-15 2:28pm

That braid technique puzzles me, too! Maybe if we all out our heads together???

shawnette 2016-02-15 3:40pm

The braid is definitely alternating dots gravity swirled. I've made a ton of them.

Devana 2016-02-24 6:02am

Hi Shawnette!! Can you post some pictures of your beads? It would be nice to se.
Thanks for the tip.

Vicki Gough 2016-02-24 7:23am

I got one like that by accident. Did the alternating dots on diskish and melting it down it got away from me...

PattyK 2016-02-24 8:18am

I'll have to try that - it's a cool look!

I doubt I have any pictures. I made them as part if my production when I used to make beads. It's been years since I've made any. If I find any photos, I'll post them.
