Gravity Swirls tutorial

This is old and from another forum, but a good tutorial for newbies or anyone. Done by me and that's my old user name. (StefaniBeads)

Enjoy!

You are a wonderful beadmaker Lisi and generous as well. Thanks!
What is the CBS squeeze? I need a crunch and don't know which one to get. . .

Lisi, what CoEs do you use for your base beads and frits? Both 104? Base 104 and 96 frit?

Thanks in advance, and thank you for the inspirational tutorial!

The CBS is the original press of that shape - Corina Bead Squeeze

You can use a Zoozi Kalera X-Long, I think that's the one. I sold my CBS a looong time ago, plus the base too. Recently I had Coon Valley on ebay custom make a crunch press for me, with two sizes. I wanted my beads a little thicker than the standard squeeze or crunch, so I had these dimensions made in one tool:

16mm wide x 8mm thick
22mm wide x 8mm thick

I use 96 size #1 frits with Uroboros or Spectrum 96 sheet glass for the base colors, and for 104, I prefer 96 frits in size #0 and #00. Been making them for so long and never had any crack, plus I never encase frits for my own peace of mind. :)

Thank you.

Really nice Lisi, your beads are so beautiful, thanks for sharing!
I am still pretty new to the glass bead stuff... and I still need to get my inventory together, I don't have any frits. I use Effetre, and I am interested in reduction frit, and regular. If you would have limited funds to use, what would you get as your first batch of frits, and what size? And where would you order them from? Figuring all this out all by yourself leads to a stuff that you didn't need, and nothing that you could use. :o)
Anyone? All suggestions will be appreciated.

Got this technique on my list to do next sesh :-D
Pam, now I know what you meant when you asked whether I'd done this - only by accident have I, and not nearly as effectively, either

Thank you, Lisi. These old tuts really are gifts that keep on giving!
