Silver Leaf dog nose....

So I was working with silver leaf yesterday and this morning we notice the dog has something shiny inside her nostril.......:wtf:

.......ok, so after we stop laughing, should I be worried?
It is .999 fine silver and about 60 years old...
BTW a q-tip only makes our sweet dog twitch and freak out...it's not helping remove the silver leaf...

"There have been (official), questions about eating silver, but generally it is accepted as safe as a food ingredient. Those silver balls you sometimes see on cakes are sugar, coated with silver, and some Indo-asian sweets are coated with silver foil."

I found a lot of similar answers, so I think it's OK

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it really, but because dogs are different than people, I would probably call my vet and ask.

Ok as a vet..... I couldn't stop laughing either. THAT is one I have never heard, and some days I feel like I've heard them all....

Probably ok, depends on how much.... just a touch probably ok..... but personally if it was my dog(s), I'd probably try to get as much out as I can. I would be more worried about the piece working it's way down further.
If she is freaking out (like most dogs would) and it is a big piece, she might need a bit of sedation/relaxation to sit still and wipe out the rest of the silver.

Sorry, kinda vague, but better safe than sorry.....

I bet very few vets have been asked if silver leaf up a dogs nose will harm them. LOL

No advice, but laughing at your dog dilemma. I do love dogs :)
