Review: new website Val Cox

I could use a set of eyes to make sure my links work and the pages flow smoothly!

I’m reviving my old domain for offering new limited run frit blends before they make it to the main Frit store. (Original frit store still going fine) My official launch will be in a couple days so I have time to dot some I’s and cross some T’s.

I could use some objective views. Some of my descriptions aren’t fully complete but I’m 99% there.

Im using Squarespace so it’s pretty easy to make a change if something is confusing.

Thank you! Val

On my phone it took a bit for me to figure out I needed to click on the three square dots to navigate. Don’t know if there should be any words up there?

echeveria 2018-03-03 7:13pm

The links all work for me on my phone- looks good! I am ready to order!

Val Cox 2018-03-03 7:19pm

Excellent, thank you Kathy for looking it over. Yes the 3 dots were confusing to me too. Let me see if there’s an easier menuchoice for mobile viewing!

Love the new site Val - the reactive blends especially look very cool!

I don't see a way to get back to the shopping cart unless I add something else.

I'm curious if you be tweaking the shipping prices?

Val Cox 2018-03-03 11:17pm

Patty, thanks I’ll take a look at the shopping cart, I found some of the same confusion earlier, but now can’t remember how I sorted it out. I set a flat rate for shipping, but as always, I plan to refund any overpayment there. Was thinking of going w flat rate USPS priority now that first class is a thing of the past. But I’ll explore it all. Does the flat rate seem too high? Thanks so much for your ideas, it really helps!

Thanks Patty, I found the shopping cart setting so it shows up correctly. Should be working now. I adjusted the USA shipping rate down to be pretty accurate in average shipping rates. Thanks for catching these details, I sure appreciate it!

PattyK 2018-03-04 1:42pm

I just placed an order and the process was nice and smooth - can't wait to try these out!

beadgal 2018-03-04 2:05pm

Hi Val, I found the shopping cart just fine!!! can't wait to try the new ones.

Val Cox 2018-03-04 2:28pm

Thank you so much Cherie for checking it out!

jzbloom 2018-03-04 3:19pm

Are you going to fill in the 'Working tips' sections? Also, it wasn't intuitive to empty the shopping cart or change the order- you had to change the number in the box and I don't know if peeps will think of that.
Will be ordering soon- You have some beautiful new blends!

Thank you for telling me about the shopping cart and quantities I will play with that, I sure don’t want it confusing. Yes I’m writing the working tips now but haven’t updated in the site yet. Thank you!

Flawless is good! thank you! I look forward to getting these to you. I had a lot of fun color researching, sourcing and designing these blends the last few months!

I bought one too.... darn all that pretty frit! I had just purchased a bunch for Valentine's day (who needs flowers when you can get frit right?!!) So I got another one today! I will call it an early birthday present. :D

rosio 2018-03-05 3:28pm

On the page for Trickster, should shapes be shades instead?

shipping cost to Canada

I emailed Sabrina about the shipping cost to Canada on your new site where the new colors are. It says $26US shipping to Canada? If that is correct, I won't be able to buy frit from you anymore and that makes me sad. $26US is over $33 CDN.

Thanks,
Janet
A huge frit fan!

That’s just a generic rate, I always refund immediate the shipping over charge. To Canada shipping will be about half that if we stay under 2 lbs. Get one of each (a 10 pack) or less and you are good to go!

Feel free to write me directly if you want an exact rate. Val@valcox.com No one should have to go without pretty frit colors!

Edit: ooh I was way off now that I’m printing the international postage, I’ll change that in the site and lower it!

...and thanks for saying something, I’ll get the kinks out of the site and rates so it’s fair, and still simple!

Hi
Ordered from Oz, everything works like a charm. Very easy to use and organised site, IMO. And the most beautiful blends!!
Thanks, Val.
Cheers
Mary
