STAT---need help with a new GTT torch hookup

Hey guys, got kinda a problem. I have my system all up and running---the right connectors and everything. The problem I am having is that these are new hoses and I cannot get the cut end of the hose with the clamp to slide over the studs on the torch. It isn't an easy fit. I am afraid I am not strong enough to do it and I am hurting my shoulder trying, and my husband has MS. He is trying but I think it is bothering him. Is there some special trick to getting these things together? Lubricant? I do realize you can't use anything petroleum based, but I can't be the first one with this problem. Help appreciated.

Get a something you can boil water, I use a Mason jar and heat it to boiling in the microwave... set the ends of the hose in the water for a few minutes. The shake off the excess water and they should slide right on. You may have to reheat one of the hoses if you're not quick enough.

Thanks,
