Non-Spreading Black - Does it Exist?
I was buying Black Diamond from BellaDonna, but my last batch works just like Intense Black from Effetre - and spreads all over the place. Are there any blacks out there that behave?

Just about to ask the same! Have Reichenbach deep black on the way, that one is not supposed to run. Have tried the black Reichenbach, its not too bad :)https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...039e3e79ac.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d6af4bcc60.jpg

The search of ages? LOL
I like tuxedo for most black applications that don't require a hair fine stringer. It doesn't web easily. I use Rbach deep black for all the fine stringer work. I have TAG oxblood for a backup black, it's nice and stiff. It strikes to a nice, deep black and doesn't bleed at all! You might want to try that, too. But for most things, Tuxedo works like a charm. |
I'm trying to remember who taught me about Vetrofond black casing over Effetre black or intense black. (I think it was Anastasia.) Pulled into a stringer, it makes for a fine black line that doesn't feather. Now if you can just find Vetrofond black.

hmm, there was also one where dark cobalt was rolled over black enamel and pulled into stringer.

I want to make layered dots on white. I've done it before, but of course the BD no longer works. I'll have to try Tuxedo - Reichenbach seems to be a bit pricier.
Thanks! Aimee |
