Sculptural Flowers Tutorial

I know a number of you mentioned that you'd like me to write a tutorial on how I do my flowers. I've been working on this for a couple weeks now and I've taken over 200 photo's so far. I'd love to see who all is interested before I go any further.

Here are examples of the flower styles you will learn if I continue to work on this.

If there is enough interest I may even include a bonus section on using these same techniques on making buttons.

So what do you say, should I keep going with this???

Cinnamon 2011-11-18 5:48pm

Oh Yes! Yes. I love your flowers!!! I'd love to learn your technique.

GlassGalore 2011-11-18 7:30pm

Interested, yes, but was hoping to see the chrysanthemum (long thin petal) style of flower in the tutorial too.

Without searching through my long list of tutorials, 99.9% of which I've never read, I'm thinking it was someone named Sally? or.........I'll see if I can find it.

I remember one that is somewhat similar by Laurie Donnette, everafterartistry.com. It was for a pansy but was but different too. I also seem to recall something similar to the spotted floral bead at the bottom but...I'm old and the mind is gone so....;)

Sally Shepherd ~ HappilyEverArtist did a stargazers lily tutorial, and the others do look a lot like Laurie Donnette's ~ everafterartistry ~ pansy tutorial.

That said, Donna, I'm still certain a number of people would purchase yours if you took the time to create it and put it out there.

janetcameron 2011-11-21 3:53am

I would buy it

beybey 2011-11-21 10:09am

Yes, absolutely.

sislonski 2011-11-21 10:57am

Yes, that's it Sally Shepard, but definitely Donna, don't let it discourage you. It looks like you plan on offering more then one item anyway, so i'm sure you' have lot to share.

sweetiedog 2011-11-21 12:35pm

Just an update, I'm working on this but I have to make beads this weekend. I should have this done soon though...maybe in a week??

yeepers 2011-11-27 6:08am

Maybe you could offer a preorder discount like Anouk ;)

krazymkate 2011-11-27 7:03am

beads are new to me.

I found this website accidentally when looking for a source for bottle caps. I joined because I was intrigued. Your glass beads are just beautiful!!!!! I am a self taught artist. I would really like to learn how to make beads. If you would offer suggestions I am all ears. Again your beads are spectacular!!!!!!!

Hi there krazymate. Thank-you for your nice comments on my work.

For classes, I guess the first thing one would need to know is where you live. There are people that makes beads everywhere. Look in your local phone book for glass shops/studios. Or look online.

And this thread has a listing of upcoming classes/workshops:

If you live anywhere close to me I'd be happy to teach as well. Good luck!

Bluejeangirlnc 2011-11-27 7:22am

SGA 2011-11-27 8:19pm

Late as well but... Yes please!!!

fyrebeadz* 2011-12-08 2:11pm

Just an update to keep you in the loop....I am writing and ediitng photo's today. I should have this wrapped up this weekend at the latest and maybe even sooner. Tomorrow? Maybe....but don't hold me to it...I'll try though! ;-)

fyrebeadz* 2011-12-08 5:19pm

Another update, I'm moving along nicely. I've got both the flower sections finished and I'm going to start of the bonus button section of this tutorial. Quite possibly I could release this sometime tomorow, if my eyes hold out, lol.

It's getting kind of blurry looking at this computer screen constantly. LOL, not really blurry but I am getting a bit of a headache....

Soon....it will be ready very soon.... ;-)

laurahallck 2011-12-12 6:02am

I don't know how I missed this thread but I would purchase this tut also.
