The smallest studio EVAH!!!

For all of you who are thinking you don't have the space for a studio I'm here to tell you anything is possible :D My space is a converted pantry. We just didn't need to store enough food to see us through the apocalypse!! :D

DH did all the destruction/construction. We wired up a dedicated 20amp outlet just for the kiln. I have NG running. We opted for a downdraft ventilation system vs a hood (which saved tons of space!!).

This is the view from the doorway. I've installed more wire racks on the wall to the left since this picture was taken (more storage for enamels). There is a small crawl space to the back left and I have shelf storage in there for items that just need a place to hang out. It's not very useful space so is truly storage. I thought about trying to open up that wall but not doable as we have stairs backing onto that wall on the other side.

It's tiny but packs a punch. I love it!!

It's awesome. And I LOVE your BEADROLLER storage. I've been wanting to do exactly that!

Eileen 2014-06-21 9:19am

I love it too, that's a wonderful space!
I also love the "get busy" sign :D

caliente 2014-06-21 9:23am

Where is your glass?

Lea Zinke 2014-06-21 9:46am

Wowzers!!! Cool!!!

glassymom 2014-06-21 11:05am

what an awesome space!! So neat and tidy too :-)

Elizabeth Beads 2014-06-21 11:30am

Color me green with envy.

But ... where's the glass? Pictures!

yeepers 2014-06-21 12:51pm

You can't really see it but the space under the table to the right where the kiln sits is floor to table top of the divided fence rail and that's where all the glass is.

I'm so impressed! I think you still have to be super organized to work in that space, but it looks great. You guys did a terrific job, thanks for sharing!

Dott 2014-06-22 10:04am

Looks great, everything seems to be within arms reach too, perfect!

Lizzydee 2014-06-22 10:49am

Wonderful! And cute to boot. :)

sra-p96 2014-06-22 3:21pm

jeepinwelch 2014-06-23 11:44am

So nice and organized. I'd be afraid to mess anything up! You guys did a fantastic job!

ESC 2014-06-23 12:24pm

That is a really cute studio. And I love how efficient the set-up is. If I could get everything in there for silver smithing also, it would be perfect!

yessysbeads 2014-06-23 12:25pm

Very Lovely use of Space there! LOVE it.

jhana 2014-06-23 10:31pm

Thats one of the neat things about lampworking - you might THINK you need a lot of space but really most everything needs to be within reach! LOVE your space :)

I love the studio organisation, but I love the collection of CG Rollers even more. If I want to buy one it costs me 11 x $ price = R500.00 for on roller|

Ingrid, I'm in the States and admiring that collection of bead rollers too!! Although I will say I've picked up a few over the years. I wish more folks made them or they weren't so expensive! Devardi has some inexpensive ones to start with, I still use the ones I bought from them.

@miniuniworld 2014-10-22 2:45pm

I would love to know how you set up your ventilation! :) ... If you don't mind sharing :)

Eileen 2014-10-22 4:21pm

Is it still this neat? Current picture?
Just wondering, but if it is, tell us how you keep it that way :D

ShellsnSand 2014-11-09 3:20pm

Great space--well organized. What a great way to use the space you have!

Birdsonawire 2014-11-13 9:35am

Very cute!

ESC 2014-11-16 5:43pm

Very well organized. I love it when there's actually a place for everything.

Khaleesi Dane 2014-11-18 12:20pm

I thought my converted chicken coop was small! But I think you got me beat!

I tried to upload a picture, but it kept telling me it was over a thousand kilobytes! lol... Wow.

PaulaD 2014-12-08 5:28pm

I think it is awesome!

chendrick 2015-01-18 3:33am

A superb looking setup! Gives me inspiration for mine! Thanks for sharing!

Robin Melts Glass 2015-01-18 1:55pm

Wow such a nice space! How many feet wide by how many feet long is it? I'm looking at moving my studio into a small space and I need to know a range. Knowing what your studio measures would help a lot. Thanks!
