"Running" water in my studio
I torch in the basement and don't have running water or a drain in the area of my studio. I saw something similar to this on LE (I think) and thought I'd share how I got "running" water going yesterday.
I bought a cheap standalone laundry sink as well as a 20 litre camping water tote with a spout. The tote sits on a shelf with the spout hanging over the sink. There is a 20 litre bucket on the floor under the drain to catch the waste water. When the tote is empty, the bucket is full. Empty bucket. Refill tote. Voila - fake running water. Works like a charm for $65. I also liked this idea because of the waste bead release. I'd rather it settle in a bucket and get rid of it that way than clogging up my drains. This is the tote I bought: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en The laundry sink is just a cheap freestanding laundry tub with no faucets, just a drain hole. I think I will also add a strainer in the drain just in case I end up pouring down something good - it will save me from feeling around in the depths of the mucky bucket. |
Nice compromise!
I just have a jug of water and no room for more, but if I did I might try that. |
Cool idea!!!
