What glass is hard to find and in demand?

- other than streaky pink? (I only have a few rods of that). I don't have hoards of silver glass either.

My current MO is to sell excess glass I am not using to make up for purchases of new glass - and keep my discretionary spending at the figure that I have 'budgeted'.

Well, there's:

1. "Terra" (original stuff);
2. ASK Silver glasses, such as "Silver Rattan", "Silver Cinnamon", "Aloe Vera", "Tribal Turq", etc.;
3. DH "Northern Lights" and many of the odd lots that were issued numbers and not names;
4. "Olympia Rain"
5. "Amber Rose" (original stuff)
6. "Chardonnay" (original stuff)

These few come to mind....anyone else?

Oh, and there's "Parrot Green", but I think that was a variation of Key Lime, which is still available.

As a side note, I believe the currently made "Pineapple Sparkle" seems to have a "white core" which, IMHO, somewhat contaminates the finished color. I don't think the "old" Pineapple Sparkle is readily available anymore - this is the one that has the yellow-sparkle color through and through - no "white-ish" core...

Some of the older corals are also in demand. Seafoam green... Vetro odd lot slate blue - there was a small run of it, I think, and it's gorgeous. Not the current issue slate grey.

That was going to be my next question. I DO have some of those listed although I have to decide how much I am willing to part with. I guess I will decide based on how much I just spent on new glass.

These are all in demand, I have lots of them and I didn't realize people were looking for them?

Parrot Green
Passinate Pink
Slate Blue
Seafoam
Pineapple Sparkle
Chardonnay
Amber Rose
Silver Rattan
Silver Cinnamon
Tribal Turquoise

Anyone know what the going price is for any of these?

SuzyQ 2008-08-07 12:11pm

My best guesses Per 1/4 pound:

Parrot Green $20
Passinate Pink $30
Slate Blue $25
Seafoam $25
Pineapple Sparkle (people are paying more for this??)
Chardonnay $30
Amber Rose $30
Silver Rattan
Silver Cinnamon
Tribal Turquoise

SuzyQ 2008-08-07 12:12pm

$8 a quarter for the pineapple sparkle:

ooooooooo. love that aloe vera!

theglasszone 2008-08-07 12:25pm

Suzy~~~

Don't want to start a glass "urban legend" here  promise! BUT, I have about 1 1/2 lbs. of the older Pineapple Sparkle, and I've found the new stuff to consistently have a "white core" which I (and it seems most others familiar with the difference) don't care for. If anyone has bought the "new" PS and hasn't found the core present, please let me know.

Thanks Suzy! now I just have to decide if I am going to sell any of it :-\"

SuzyQ 2008-08-07 12:51pm

Ok, good to know. I didn't realize there was a newer batch.

stacied 2008-08-07 2:59pm

Wow this is so cool cause not only do I have parrott green I also have the parrott green dark. Its a tad darker than the original parrott green and fatter rods. Didn't think they were that valuable though.

Keewin 2008-08-07 4:33pm

A note on the Parrot Green - the batch had several unique differences so if you want a particular version of Parrot Green, you need to know what you're looking for and seek that out specifically.

stacied 2008-08-07 5:45pm

You are so right Karen!

My original batch of Parrot Green was normal color and size but the next batch I got were fat rods and they were a bit more olive color than the first but labeled Parrot Green dark. It is a gorgeous shade and when you put the original Parrot Green next to the Key Lime there is a big difference.

Yup. Actually, was it an odd? I can't remember exactly but I guess it was since it's disappeared now!

Cabanlet 2008-08-07 7:47pm

poppy vetro odd.

AlivELampworK 2008-08-07 7:50pm

parrot green was definitely a vetrofond odd.. i think it came out the same time that key lime, pineapple sparkle, tangerine, and arancio perfecto did. because that would make sense that i have all of them..

That's an odd too? I had no idea, I need to get out more!

villa design 2008-08-07 7:56pm

Poppy Vetro Odd was going for $40 a 1/4 lb last time I checked.

Terra (original) is selling $10... per rod.

villa design 2008-08-07 7:57pm

River Rock is about $40 per 1/4 too I think.

Do you know what number River Rock is/was? I have one rod with 683 on it but the rest of the tag tore off. It's driving me nuts!
