Wow! Lots of fun new colors! I have an order on the way and played with Quasar today. I'm a sucker for anything pink, and will be adding it to the Pink thread as soon as I can get some sample beads done. So far, yum! Melts like butter, really nice! I got a citrus grapefruit kinda color for the most part, but I'm seeing a brighter pink on the ends where it was not encased. Will definitely experiment with encasing/not. On the way, Calypso, Meta-Terrania, and more Quasar. Gorgeous! I did a search and couldn't find a thread with MAL or Quasar. Am I doing something wrong? I'm surprised no one is posting about these yet. Here's the website: https://moltenaura.com/our-glass

If you have played with MAL's colors and want to share pics, I'd love to see what you got! I'll share too. Expecting the glass tomorrow. I'm especially excited about the Meta color. Wow, it is just so vibrant!

That is one gorgeous shade of pink!

Wow, really like the Calypso, all by itself. Pretty color! Would be interesting to do a base of Calypso, some deep blue/silver frit and then encase in Calypso.

Thanks for posting these. I'm forbidden from buying anymore glass right now. I have more than I have time for, and that includes boro. I'm living vicariously through you. ;)

haha I know the feeling. My latest big splurge was just ivory and clear. How boring.

So here are my first and 2nd plays with some of the MAL colors.

First pix is Quasar base with Hippie Chick frit pair and then a pair of Quasar used in a twistie with other colors. I did send the twistie beads through a 2nd annealing cycle to get more color.

2nd pix is all Quasar none encased. I did find if you work it in a slightly reducing atmosphere ... it stays transparent/translucent and comes out a gorgeous hawaiian punch pink. These were flash in an oxy rich flame before annealing.

Frits on pairs of Egyptian White, SS5 and Silver Creek.

Third photo is a mixed bag. Meta with SS5, then DejaBlue with Midnight Hour frit blend, then Calypso with Midnight hour frit, then a pair of Calypso with Crystal Blue Persuasion frit blen and finally ... I used up a little short of Quasar with translucent Grape Lollypop and then rolled and swirled with Midnight Hour frit blend.

Next outting will be some implosion work.

I really want some of the alabaster, but so far no one has any in stock. More soon, I hope!
