Need a nice opaque Peach

Needing a nice opaque peach color - anyone know of one?

Don't kill me for this, but Devardi has some of the most beautiful op peaches that I've ever seen!

KJohn 2013-09-29 5:08pm

Devardi- true. Also, perhaps have a look at CIM phoenix- although it can also strike to orange.

If you can use COE 96, Gaffer 111 Salmon is a gorgeous peach.

There are some Devardi colors that I like so much that I am willing to baby them to use them. One is a beautiful pink called Lipstick. They do have some lovely peaches.

Thompson has a nice peach enamel if that would fit your application.

Thanks for all the suggestions. :)

I have a box of the Devardi when it first came out so will check if there's any in there. I'm just not a fan of the huge amount of babying it needs.
I looked at the Gaffer Salmon too and it is lovely but man, it's expensive !
Kristin, I have the CIM Phoenix and tried that this morning so we'll see on that one.
Mary, I have that peach enamel so will check it out.

CIM Adobe - I have some I would be willing to sell but it's not cheap.

Orange Sherbet is a gorgeous peach!

I agree with devardi having nice peachy colors but it is what it is. I also agree with the CIM Phoenix, on both counts

I have the CIM Peaches and Cream and while it's ok, sometimes it just looks washed out or if overworked, dark in spots. It's a kind of fussy color.

Thanks Shawnette. :)

Thanks to all for the help. Much appreciated.
I went with several options. Ordered the Gaffer after all and of course didn't stop at the Salmon ! Also ordered some really pretty frits from Val Cox which will work as well. :)
I'm also gonna try the peach enamel.

Moretti carnelian, encased in clear pink. Lovely, and carnelian is a overlooked color with amazing results.

Expensive? 0.25kg bundle of cane (small rods) (1/2 pound) is $10.83.

dla 2013-10-02 3:34am

Diane, the first time I looked at the website and prices, I saw over $3.00 PER ROD but was looking at another color. I didn't edit my post but guess I should of.
If you look at post #14 you'll see I placed the order. :)

Diane (clarus) 2013-10-02 6:53am

Sorry, I didn't see that. Yeah, the Gaffer colors are gorgeous and I am glad you ordered some. Peach is one of those colors that is really hard to find. Have fun with what you got!

dla 2013-10-02 7:03am

Thanks Diane. :)

Make sure to show us what you wanted the peach for! *grins*

dla 2013-10-02 12:35pm

Will do. :)

crystalflipz 2013-10-02 12:57pm

Some of the Vetro odd Seashell Swirl will turn a lovely opaque peach if you really cook it.

CheriB 2013-10-20 3:14pm

I have been wanting a really nice peach for quite a while now. I've tried Reichenbach apricot, CiM opaque and transparent peach, and a couple of others. After reading this thread, I bought a few Devardi peach colors, and am in love with opaque salmon! Some colors were the proverbial "frit on a stick", but this one was buttery smooth to melt. Their transparent peach is nice too.
Of course, I ordered some pinks, and a lime green, and they are quite nice also. Sadly, the marine blue/green was frit, but I gathered up all the blown apart bits with some effetre white, and it made quite the pretty beads. :)

dla 2013-10-20 7:17pm

Hmmmmm, I'll have to order that one I guess. And I thought I was done with the project I needed it for in the first place ! lol !

I'm for from a color creating expert, but pale pink encased in lt amber gives me a peachy color

That sounds pretty too. I'll try that next time I torch. I tried encasing a Devardi opaque peach in the tranparent, but both beads cracked. It may have been from them cooling too much, but I'm not sure.
