Blue and Yellow Opalino
For some reason, I seem to have a lot of Blue opalino and yellow opalino....just plain old Effetre opal glass...
Does anyone remember a specific use for them? some special technique? Something lovely? or (dare I admit it?) strangely peculiar? Or was I momentarily passed out when I ordered them? |

But, maybe I was planning a revision/revival.... |

Ups, sorry, some how I deleted my message.
I thought about this, the black web effect http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59382 but this was the same you were thinking about, don't you? Kathrin |

i love the opalino line for base beads and haven't had any cracking problems....yet. the soft buttery colors are great and good for twisties too. was going to search LE for handy hints since i like this stuff so much, read my mind.

I have a lot of yellow opalino because years ago when opal yellow became popular I thought this was what everyone was talking about... :-?
I used to make copper-silver-yellow opalino stringer--creates cool organic greens. Intense black webbing is interesting when it's a base glass. In my hands it is much like CIM ghee. One becomes slightly more opaque, but I don't remember which one. Also tried it with Romance frit recently and I like that pretty well when etched. I've never had any cracking issues. I guess my batch is about 8 years old. |
