Back in the game..kind of... Favorite clear?

That pretty much says it all. I have all the glass I really need but I'd love to know if there is a clear anyone is loving right now. I am just melting for fun so it's mostly raku because I love it with some florals encased because i like a challenge and mine look like kindergarten art still.

104 clear? Double Helix Zephyr when I want no drama encasing.

The new Eff Super clear is pretty nice too

I should have specified 104. The raku I use with 96 but most of my glass play is 104

I'll try both- thanks!

Double Helix Zephyr is absolutely my vote. I've been struggling with messy clear until I buckled down and bought some to test. Now that is all I'll be asking for as gifts from family!

That looks great Ryan- and on a hothead?

Thanks. Yeah it was on a hothead. That's why I've been so crazy about zephyr. I have no issues with scumming even on long implosions. There's been no need to skin the glass at any point. Just give it a good wipe down with windex, or just on my apron, and go!

I adore Zephyr even though i am not all that fabulous at encasing.

actually depends on what you want to do. If I have murrine I want to open, like rose murrine, or spread frit, or do tornado beads, etc, the stiffer clears work better than zephyr, which is really soft. If the clarity really matters, then Zephyr is the way to go. So it really depends, you will probably end up using both, but for most things 006 Super clear is the most economical option that tends to give good results. The Zephyr is your secret weapon.

^^^Agree with Kristin...just wanted to mention that Zephyr seconds are a good option if you want to try it at a discounted price. I use Zephyr seconds and find them perfectly adequate.

Have fun!

Seconds sound like a good spot also. I plan on mostly encasing. I remember now why this was so all encompassing!
