Proper studio!

A proper studio! As in, one that doesn't consist of me sitting outside!

Now I have a 'real house' I converted one room to be 'Charli's craft room'.

It started off something like this:

It was insulated (ooh, very space-age)

And boarded and plastered and painted and flooring went down..

Cupboards went in, as did a gas pipe to hook me up to the household gas.

I had major major issues getting someone to put the gas pipe in. Because it isn't a 'usual thing' plumbers weren't interested- too much risk to them.

Then I was brave and cut a big hole in the newly plastered ceiling for my ventilation pipe to go out of.
My OH was very patient and put loads of extra sockets in for me (repeatedly.. as I kept changing my mind)
It now looks something like this:

And I haven't made a great deal of stuff in it... as I haven't finished renovating the rest of the house yet.. but soon, soon! And its brilliant because its warm inside! No more freezing my butt off outdoors in winter! And no more getting rained on to melt glass!

I got some ikea drawers as was in Soda-Lime-Times to store glass rods in (brilliant idea!), put leftover bathroom floor tiles on the worktop (which is an offcut of kitchen worktop). The ventilation is standard hvac stuff, with greenhouse-window-rubber round the sharp edge of the funnel. The white glass-holders were made by me and the OH out of some leftover plywood and lots of glue.
