I have a friend that wanted an acorn for his girlfriend. This is what i've come up with so far. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dave

J.Meader 2012-01-03 11:36am

Nice start everyone, Dave I like the last acorn I think you nailed with that one.
Sorry to drag christmas back into it but I made this for my mother, she collects nutcrackers so I decided to make her one...
first image is from my phone

and here he is posing the day after christmas

Bunyip 2012-01-03 5:49pm

The last acorn looks good to me too, but maybe use a rasp or a file to texture the top :)

Oh and if it were me, I'd get rid of the background & just make a loop out of the stem!

you could use the end a brass tube to stipple the top of the acorn

HWCGlass 2012-01-03 10:11pm

Hearts

Getting better each time with the hearts, fingers crossed

J.Meader 2012-01-04 1:25pm

Sunray you scored, beatifull christmas present
Marcel, very nice design, I like the mib/sculpture idea.
HWC, dude your stuff is off the hook, I really like the twisty designs you have been posting.
Morgan, beautifull job on the shaping, its so hard to keep things centered when flaring but it looks like you nailed it,
Missp, pretty beads !!
rj, nice job on the hearts

Baywinger 2012-01-04 2:41pm

Thanks J, I know what you mean I am tossing lots of bowls and feet but I bought a bunch of inexpensive Asian tubing just for the purpose of learning how to do this :-)
RJW very nice really like the first one!
