Car Beads

I have been asked to make a car bead, a woodie to be precise. I have searched and cannot find anything even close. Has anyone seen any beads made to look like cars that I may get some ideas from? I don't really want to go with an animated looking car, you know with eyes and such, but I know I can't make one that looks really authentic. Any links, ideas, etc. would be greatly appreciated. SJM

I think there is a BOC tutorial for some vehicle beads

Yes, it's in the first edition of the Beads of Courage Hot Glass for Cool Kids. It's not a woodie but I'm thinking you can start with this car and make one. Both editions of Hot Glass for Cool Kids are worth every cent.

Yep! I have 4 of Loren's cars, one a little red and white convertible with a Minnie Mouse Murrini driving. Got em maybe 15 years ago?

Woody Bead

Here are two Woody beads that I completed. I have an entire assortment of sample cars to get to these.

Great job ! Where's the surf board ? :)

So cute!!!

Very cute, and I know exactly what you mean about that 'assortment of beads to get there'. Try making an 'Elsa' from Frozen bead! Not as easy as it sounds.

Thank You

Thank you all for your kind words. I have to hand it to my car enthusiast husband for some direction as I went along.

If you're impressed by the driver in the car, you may like this one too Eileen, although the significance may escape youngsters who weren't around in 1994. (Hint: If you can't tell, the car is a white Ford Bronco.) Look very closely at the occupants...

^^^What Eileen said.
I'm totally in awe of the talent in designing and skill in creating that bead.
At the same time, I'm cracking up to see the subject protrayed.
I'll bet while OJ was taking his leisurely cruise down the highway,
he was thinking "I wonder if someone someday will commemorate this in glass."

Ha ha, wow! ( 6.6)
