Fresh Air Duct Question

I'm not even positive how i"m going to set up my work area yet, but IF I can get hubby to put a couple holes in the shop wall, i'm thinking about trying the
duct with the make-up air coming through your bench/table.

I was thinking about it and I realized I didn't know if just having the hole in the wall with the pipe attatched to it going up under your bench is the entire setup?
How does that get enough fresh air into you?

Evenin' Michele ... I don't know anything about the bench table vent system, but if you need to know what size hole or "make-up air" vent you'll need you first need to know the cubic feet you'll be exhausting. If you could let us know that you may get a better response.

Oh geez, I don't know. How do I even determine that? It's one big open room 30x50, crud, I need to go remeasure, but about that. It has two small windows in front of building and clear in the back 50 ft away it has a suction fan high up on the wall like 12ft up. That's it. I don't even know if i can convince hubby to put a couple holes in the wall for me or not, so I really do need to come up with an alternte plan.
So HELP! me please....I feel over my head already...

Another good article to look at is

Mike has pictures showing how he does his under-the-bench make-up air.

This question comes up on LE every so often. There's a nice post either here or in the Studio section within the last 8 months or so asking about how to do it, and several folks posted pictures on how they do their under-the-bench make-up air. Don't have the link handy, but it's obvious from the title - you should spot it easily if you tab back through the postings.
