Thank you everybody :waving:
i made this marble with the title Raven and the Moon and because i am a trickster i steal the sun too ;) and this bear made of Tektite it was hard to melt it but cool when it works out the bail and ears are made of borosilicate! ;) |
What is tektite? a rock ?

First Try
Felt well enough to give this a try after reading everything I got my hands on.
Even more impressed by all the artist work I see here now that I have tried it myself. You all make it seem so easy. It is not! |
Thanks for sharing the link Marcel.
Looking good Cheryl. |

i see definite improvement, James. how's the piping going?
|
Marcel,
I love the bear, how did you keep the bail and ears from cracking off? I'm assuming that tektite has a different COE than 33. |
idk about coe's, but abr's webpage on this tektite, moldavite etc all say boro compatible.

some more vases working more on the shaping then anything. I ran into a problem though i use a swivel and every time after i formed the body it would fill with vapor and act as if it was sealed off. My thoughts are that the hose im using is simply to small. To allow the amount of air to pass through like it should. Anyone else have any ideas? |
with a small hose your spit or salivia has a tendency to condense in the hose so the hot air can,t escape fast enough, this used to happen to me also we used to get two different kind of mouth pieces a yellow amber one and a black one the yellow one the end had a tendency to break down from the teeth clamping down on it,the black ones were much better. { i got the mouth pieces from wale apparatus }. just a couple of things that happened to me in the past hope it helps.
|
Thanks thats exactly what i was thinking. I tried a bigger swivel 3/8ths vs 3/16ths and the same happened i even widened the mouth peice so only thing left has to be the hose. Thanks for the help. Amazing the difference in site answers.
