Oxygen concentrator
Where can I possibly find an affordable oxygen concentrator? I’ve looked and looked. Can I use an oxygen concentrator that hasn’t been converted for lampwork. Can’t I use it as is?

There isn't much converting to do to be able to use it. Some are beefed up somehow I heard, but that isn't mandatory. I just had to take a fitting off the outlet so I could slide my hose on it.

I just checked my local Craigslist, and the prices have gone up a good bit. I bet people are figuring they can get a lot from people now because of the virus or something!

Oxygen Consentrator
Thank you for the help! That makes all the difference in the world.
I have one that’s broken. How come they always make it sound so complicated to “convert” them. I have seen many concentrator on line right now at 50% off. I can find anyone that sells them for lampwork. |
I found some old threads about this, and didn't see anything about converting being a must.
One thing to remember, once you get it, don't run the machine long with the oxygen turned off at the torch. The back pressure is not good for the machine. I only turn my torch oxygen knob to off while lighting the torch. Do run it a bit before lighting the torch though, to allow the oxygen to build up and keep your flame steady. This is one of the old threads I found by searching oxygen concentrator if you want to look for more information. http://lampworketc.com/forums/showth...or+information |
