Very nice Leslie.
Still working on floral compressions - wish I had more time to practice rather than just weekends but I'm getting there Happy November everybody! ___________________________ Roberta |
Hi you two!
Very, very pretty pendants Leslie, and that marble is fantastic Roberta. What color is the purple you used Roberta? Nice work. If I ever figure out how to make photo's small I would post. |
Thanks Mary - It's Urple Purple. Love the way it somes out all velvety -it looks better in person.
|
Leslie very nice pendants
Roberta good looking implosion I have recently been making flies from soft glass and decided to see if I could use the same technique with boro, much tougher to do as I had to be careful not to burn the hooks. |

Roberta ~ Very pretty! I think you have those compressions down.
Morgan ~ Love the flies... great idea and they are beautiful! Glass Alias ~ Looking good! The pendant is like looking down from space and the marble is yummy. Thanks for the nice compliments on the new pendants! Just got to keep trying... |
Ok, since I am pretty sick right now, ( I mean asthma, a bad cold, possible pneumonia) I had some time to play with trying to make pictures small, and the only way is to email them to myself and then save them. I hope these don't come out really really small.
What I really should be doing right now is torching, as I have my biggest show of the year in less than 3 weeks and I am not ready at all. But here goes: This is a pendant, very sparklie in person My version of a pinfrog heart Turtle pendant with compression (very time consuming) |
Awesome, Mary K! Sorry that you are sick :-(

Ive been making ornaments too. Now im trying to find items that i can have a market for and be able to repeat. Any suggestions?
|
Mary K - nice to see what you've been working on.
James - love the mistletoe Glass Alias - terrific stuff Morgan, the flies are great - very original |
Hey James, are you looking for seasonal sale items? One year I made
a bunch of icles, just clear with a nice finished loop, I made them in many sizes and some were small enough to be a pendant, looked really cool on a silver chain. I put simple silver ribbon on them to hang them from a silver tree I used for display and they all sold. Gone. Wish I had made more. I just striped a 8mm clear spiraling down on a 9mm, then pulled and tapered the ends, after I finished the loop. Nice mistletoe, very pretty. Always so nice to see what everyone is working on. |
yes Icicles are easy to make and popular.

So Leslie, did you make them of glass, or just naturally outside of frozen water?
Ha Ha. I remember Colorado, you guys really get the snow and cold there. I would love to see Colorado in the spring, I bet it is beautiful. Was so nice meeting you and your husband and having dinner at your house. You have an amazing studio to work in as well. Happy Holidays to everyone in Colorado! |
Not just christmas items but everyday items as well. The misltoe i had to wait till i got my micro torch so i could weld it together better. However their still pretty fragile.

November already geez time is flying.
Here is one of my effigy marbles i call Soul Searcher this line came in my mind describing this effigy. Peaceful as we may appear.... there will be chaos in our minds.... but that is how creativity is born |
Outstanding Marcel!

Baywinger, those flies are very cool. I've been stream and lake fishing a fair bit this year, but I'm still having too much fun with spin fishing and not quite ready to move across to fly fishing (although I've got a fly tying kit). I made myself some dichro glass bladed spinners and a couple of little lures which can be quite effective. I'm also giving a lake trout technique called "tremerella" (a technique originated in Italy and currently popular in Germany) a go and made myself some floating and sinking rattles for it. A lot of the tackle used with tremerella is made of glass, down to the sinkers. The idea is to attract trout from far away with a rattle and then entice it to bite by presenting some irresistible bait like honeybee larvae. Here's a couple of my "trout rattles" http://imageshack.us/a/img827/6989/dsc07448i.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img441/786/dsc07447y.jpg and a set of seven 24kt gold mini Star Wars inspired portrait marbles from 31mm to 33mm diameter there's Darth Vader, Yoda, a Stormtrooper, C3P0, R2D2, Chewbacca and Boba Fett |

Thank you ;) for the cool comment. o yes getting the plane can't wait :)
Here are a couple of pendants i would like to show. |
What an amazing array of work in here for this month!
Marcel, I LOVE the icy wolf pendant! Not for sale any place? I've been fooling around with icicles for a while, trying to use up some icky Pyrex. It's fine for these with no silver colors. Just 10mm striped 3 X 3 with 4mm clear mostly. The white frit is Origins bright white. It gets this mat/frosted look to it on the surface. These will probably go to neighbors and friends. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL162.../404597718.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL162.../404597717.jpg |
