I have tried doing this but I think my torch needs a 10 lpm rather than my 5 lpm O2 concentrator...

Ebook for purchase?

Hello, Ron:

I'm interested in purchasing your ebook on Implosions. Is it still available? I can't view the link till I post at least one post ... I'm new member of LE forum. :) Thank you!

Would like to buy your tutorials

Hi Ron, I would like to buy your tutorials, but can’t message you. Thanks!

I've done a lot of florals and other implosions, but all soft glass. I have a hell of a time keeping them from twisting on me, but someone once told me that if I ever switched to boro I'd be way ahead of the curve after having done so many in soft glass. I guess you have more control with boro glass, things can go so wrong so quick with 104. What's the absolute bare minimum next step up from a Nortel Minor that will handle 1-2inch boro marbles on a concentrator, or am I dreaming? LOL

Jeri 2023-12-06 2:53pm

If you are working smallish (maybe 1-1/14" final diameter) you can get away with a mega-minor. That assumes you have enough oxygen to run one.

jesnbec73 2023-12-06 3:28pm

I've got two 5lpm concentrators, would that run a mega-minor ok?

probably not but Nortel can tell you for sure. It might be mite logical to invest your efforts into improving the soft glass implosion.

I do ok with the petals, you can't really see it, but the backsides are where things start to get wonky on me. I usually turn these into hollows with some fuming to hide the bottoms LOL

The author is no longer really checking in here, and is not in the glass business any longer.

I can vouch for this, he's still selling the ebooks and he's super helpful and friendly.
I don't know that I got a great deal of new information from the Implosion Books but then again, I've already been doing them for several decades now. For someone who is just getting started, these would be an invaluable guide to making implosions. He also includes a Scull Marble tutorial, a seashell, a Christmas Ornament, and a Galaxy Marble tutorial so it's a pretty darn good deal for twenty bucks, highly recommended if you're starting out and wanting to learn some more advanced techniques.
