Can you identify this glass?

If someone, anyone... could help me figure out what the name and number of this glass is.... I will send KISSES!!!!:love::love:

It's Vetrofond something violet, but the part of the label that had a number and rest of the name wore off, and I didn't realize until NOW that it's all I have! HELLLLLP!!

These are the itty bitty rods I have left

These are the beads I made with this color

You might post an In Search of to one of the lampwork destash pages on Facebook if nobody here can ID it for you. Since they are no longer making colored glass, that might be the only way to get some.

Great idea! Thanks.

Maybe 952 Vetro Dk. Violet? Doesn't quite look as dark as what i have but purples are so hard to photo (for me at least).

kansassky 2018-02-08 2:13pm

Does any part of the number show?

Nope... not a bit ](*,)

Elizabeth Beads 2018-02-08 3:06pm

Would you show a photo of the end of the rods please?

I don't recognize that as a Vetrofond color. I think 952 Violet odd (Purplicious) was darker.

Vetrofond never made a Lavender Blue pastel like Effetre, which is what I think looks closest.

Whatever it is, I wish I had some. It's a beautiful purple.

Reichenbach 104 Lavender might be your best bet as a replacement.

Elizabeth is right. The V. Dk. Violet is darker. Check out Effetre New Violet though. I think you can still get the handpulled version. It's one of my favs.

The spacers and base here are New Violet 273. Had to look up the number. The paddle that Frantz has makes it look nasty! I wouldn't buy that, no wonder he said it wasn't popular.
Anyway, you can still get this stuff and while it's not exact, it might get close.

I took some pictures with what's left of the label and what the rod ends look like too. I thought maybe someone might recognize the writing on the label? Purplicious is quite a bit darker... I've seen that also. I've seen pictures of some of the violets and this could be one of those, but then again, purple does not photo well and I sure don't want the 272, that stuff doesn't like me. I thought it looked similar to soft violet but then again, some pictures are horrid for purples.

PM me your address and I'll send you a piece so you can see if it's the right one. If it is, maybe you can order some from me. J/K sorta, but it's Vetro and long gone except for people's stashes. I'm not overly fond of it.

melzip 2018-02-08 7:51pm

The new Violet also looks like my rods... what to do...

OK, I'm pretty sure that V is for Violet and not Vetrofond.

Vetrofond just didn't make a lot of purple pastels.

This is a pretty complete list of all the Vetrofond colors:

I swear this looks like a "w" preceding the letter "V" thus, making this Effetre neW Violet?:grin::grin::grin: I'm crossing my fingers.

Yeah, they didn't like me asking for help with glass identification in the destash forums.

Eileen 2018-02-10 12:05pm

Well pooh, maybe it is the tips and techniques forum I saw people posting on, looking for glass.

But in my mind, I pictured more of a "I'm ISO this glass, please let me know if you have some for sale" I guess.

And they would have said, "what glass color is that?" LOL

Eileen 2018-02-10 1:43pm

Well I have to admit that I went out to see if I have any 273 New Violet, and I do, and it looks like I have never tried it, so guess what is on my schedule for tomorrow, so I can add some to my order if I fall in love! ;)

melzip 2018-02-10 2:28pm

Does it look like the rods/beads I posted? You will love this stuff. I think certain rod form deceives us, but when we make it into something, pow...

Nannie 2018-02-12 4:00am

Shrimp 2018-02-16 8:07pm

Why oh why does my New Violet always look like one of the fifty shades of grey!?

Beadazoid 2018-02-17 2:24pm

It looks like my Soft Violet #273 and my stash is from pre-2010.
