That (sandblasted?) Raven is my favorite. You have a good touch with form. Thanks for sharing so we can enjoy.

Kim V 2013-04-03 7:15am

Wow, Marcel! My favorite is the raven, no, the bear, nope, the raven, bear, raven, bear, raven....Damn, LOVE them both! :)

I keep trying to make a nice goblet

I find it hard to make the feet nice, this one turned out more random shaped.

MagpieGlass 2013-04-06 3:08pm

Great start to the month.

Marcel ... beautiful as always.

Adam ... nice goblet ... I like the foot ... it looks like waves.

Working to make Spring themed beads ... really happy how this came out ... next time it needs sparkle added.

Here's my first contribution to a Show & Tell thread:

(Sorry if the images are too large, I wasn't sure...)

The eye pendant was my first attempt at something of that kind, and my first iris cane.
Looking forward to seeing more of everyone's stuff.
I love the Nebula Bear!
Nice colors, everyone.
Martha

I thought I would share. I don't do much boro, just some pendants once in a while, but I decided to try some beads.

very nice collaboration with your Dad Marcel. I enjoy working with my dad too he is not an artist but we work in the garden together and other outside projects he always give me the impression that I can do anything and learn anything if I put my mind to it. A very great man and an awesome Dad.

Nice work everybody!

I'm into fuming these days.

Baywinger 2013-04-24 11:41pm

looking great here
I have mostly been working soft glass these days but I sat down to play with boro, opal and sandblasting

stackmyra 2013-04-25 11:22am

Did another glass

I constantly get the stem a bit off center and the lips of the glass always gets crooked :/

but I'm getting there.

istandalone24/7 2013-04-25 11:46am

are the lips being crooked due to the stem being off center? like when you spin it out, it's not "true"?

i've messed around with goblets a bit (i'm nowhere ready to make stuff like that, but i can't help myself) and every time i make one, the rim/lip gets wonky. i can only assume it's due to my stem being off center, which is due to my hands shaking lol.

GlassAlias 2013-04-26 3:05am

@Papi and Baywinger - Nice stuff. Love the fume color and the backside of that marble.

stackmyra 2013-04-26 11:57am

Yeah I guess it takes a little practice to put the stem right in the center, I haven't really managed that yet :) anyone got any advice?

The lips turns wonky when I flare it open so yes it might be partially because the stem is not centered, but it might be my fault too.
I haven't made that many goblets yet, this is my seventh one.

Rose 2013-04-28 4:03pm

Adam, I know from my humble experience that you are progressing and doing great! Keep the pics coming!

deb tarry 2013-05-01 7:19am

Yes keep going, blown work still eludes me but in the long run it is a great technique to learn.
