trying to figure out what glass
I have a bundle of dark blue transparent glass cut in an 18" length. I purchased it a few years ago, setting it aside because it was something "special" but there's no label and has clear plastic wrap around each end.
The way it's wrapped makes me think it came from Olympic Glass, but in reviewing my past orders there's nothing that looks like it. It could be ABR. Without a label I'm certain it didn't come from Frantz or Double Helix because they always do have a label. I'm thinking it was a Precision 104 glass. What color were the rods for the dark Davinci double amber purple? Or black pearl? I know there were several Precision 104 that were dark blue, but those are the two I think I would have been interested in ordering. My next step is to put it in the flame to see what tricks it can do; although not knowing what it is could hinder my ability to make it shine. And it would nice to know what it is in case it does something cool for me! Thank you! Karen |
Da Vinci DAP is opaque and can be bluish or brownish. Black Pearl is saturated black.
It might be Picasso. Which would be awesome. |
Melt that glass and see what you get! You may need to thin a little with white so you see what shade you are working with as sometimes those blues and very deep and dark.

Great--that helps! Thank you!

I've some Precision Picasso Silver Blue and it's a transparent dark blue. With a lamp above it looks like this.
I've also Black Pearl but it's a black opaque glass. Hope that helps. Elke :waving: |
