always been confused

Is ANY glass bead an Act of courage bead?

The FB group Beginning lampworker's challenge has their January challenge as contributing to Beads of Courage. I have a pile sitting on my desk for donation.

Sorry about the title typo!

And great timing on the FB challenge, so yes, click on that link and fill out the form if you would like a tee shirt. I wear them around and people ask about it, so I can spread the word that way and maybe it will nudge someone into checking them out. Once they know about them, maybe they will make a monetary donation or something.

What’s the best way to package multiple beads ...I’ve usually have shipped a few at a time. Also economically too.

Thanks

I use a small flat rate box, if you have a ton you might be better with the medium flat rate.
I have done a variety of ways, today I put them in a freezer bag, wrapped a little bubble wrap around that. It pretty much filled the box, but I did stuff a few pieces in there to fill it up so that there wouldn't be any jostling around.
Sometimes I put them on craft pipe cleaners, sometimes I just pile them in the freezer bag. Today I just strung them all on a long ribbon before putting them in the bag. No rhyme or reason except for the bag. I figure when they open the box it would help to keep them from spilling out and bouncing around on the floor ;)

I do the same as Eileen. Small flat-rate box, beads in a heavy weight baggie, padding to fill the box.

Thank you both for the suggestions.

I just sent 179 this afternoon. I’ve been holding on to them for ages because I wasn’t sure how they needed to be packed, so thanks for addressing it in this thread!

That is great Karen! Sadly the need is always there, there are always sick kids.

I just mailed 67 BOC Beads today!

Eileen 2019-02-20 3:04pm

They are so cute! I know the kids will love them.

DancingSalamander 2019-02-26 5:15pm

How adorable, Pat!

I sent by beads off and got a T-shirt. It's a nice one.

This was a fun project. I look forward to doing it again and plan to make a few beads each session to put towards sending another batch of beads.

It really is very moving to mail a box off, knowing the kids that get them can really use a boost and a smile!
