I just bought a retired shuttle bus (airport to hotel size) and am in the process of converting it to an RV to travel the country in. I'd like to set up a small lampwork studio section and would love some input on things I'll need to consider for torching/setup safety and transporting glass rods without them breaking. Using Hothead with propane.

The bus is a blank slate right now and I will be outfitting over the next couple of weeks. All suggestions welcome!

One thing would be to keep the glass between the axles

Keep the ventalation away from the tail pipes of the bus.

You might want to contact Greg Chase as I know that he & Deanne had some sort of traveling set up.

Hey cherie....... So how did the mini shuttle bus conversion come out? Did you post pictures of the inside? This is 7 years from your first post, so I'm hopeful you're enjoying crusin' in it now!!
I'm in the process of doing same and would love to learn from your experience if you're willing to share?? I first started by considering the Shepherdhuts.usa.com tow-behind model. then I realized that I just didn't want to have to also invest in a large truck just to pull it. This all-in-one model seems most efficient.

We have built some kilns for travelling studios, I will say keep your kiln on a 4 inch pad of foam :) when on the road.
