COE 104 Yellow Uranium Premium Opaque
Hello,
I picked up a rod of Yellow Uranium Premium Opaque glass today at Delphi. I've searched the forums and see that the yellow and green uranium glasses are UV reactive. Is this also true of the opaque? Thank you! |
I'm a bit suprized Delphi didn't have an image under uv/blacklight.
I saw a piece of opaque earlier in the vintage glass group that was reactive, but I'm not sure if it was uranium. UV flashlights are quite common at office supply and business shops. Used to spot counterfeit money, ID's, entertainment and sanitation issues at home or industry. |
I do not know about this specific glass, but there are opaque and semi opaque uranium glasses that react to blacklight.
However, not all 'uranium glass' glows under blacklight. From what I know, Moretti 'uranium yellow' does not actually contain uranium and does not glow under blacklight. |
Czech Uranium glass glows very pretty under backlight.

It's probably the effetre color like Floorkasp said.
Opaque otherwise is vintage as far as I know, I have some and only saw it for sale once ever. eta, it is an effetre number, so no uranim or glow. If you want it to glow remember the coe is usually a weird one so use it carefully. I think member Magpie has some czech uranium. https://squareup.com/store/magpiesglasscache |
