I'm still a newbie but here is one I did recently.................
Put the frit you are trying to pull into stringer in a PLASTIC cup!!!! I wondered why I was seeing curls of smoke as I was dipping my hot stringer/blob into the frit!!! LOL Melted only a little frit...
