I just put the mandrels in for an annealing cycle - I read somewhere to do this and paid attention when my brand new mandrels were melting left and right. I think it's supposed to "harden" them...

I agree with you Angie. I love that color because it's so unique and rich. I hadn't really thought of it as a pink but you're right it does come out like that in some of its reactions.
