It looks thermal, but reds, oranges, yellows don't necessarily encase well. Like Eileen said, make them with a clear core. They are much less likely to crack.

I have done this with dark ivory, threading it on black, for instance, and I get that spreading, but not as defined as intense black. Don't do ivory threading on blues or greens-it will turn black.
