There isn't much converting to do to be able to use it. Some are beefed up somehow I heard, but that isn't mandatory. I just had to take a fitting off the outlet so I could slide my hose on it.

I wonder if that stuff, (is it naval jelly?) would work to get the rusty debris loose.

Maybe a few whacks on the chuck with a hammer would loosen it a bit too.
