Mina if I remember right, they use the finer grades of silicon carbide to do the tumbler etch.
This would be either 600 or 1200 grit.

it could be copper as the stain looks brownish.
Took a pic with a usb microscope I have and it looks like its on the surface
and swirls like a film on top.

Vacuuming

Mikelene, when doing the vacuuming, laying down a piece of the epanded metal first may take care of the fiber moving.
