I had something similar happen to me and it turned out to be the flash-back arrestor on the propane tank. I removed it just long enough to check the flame (surface mix torch) and the flame was fine....

You might want to consider a "Barley Box" type of ventilation instead of a funnel. IMO box-type hoods that come all the way down to the bench on three sides, and have a partial baffle on the front...

It sounds like fumes to me. Have you done a smoke test to make sure your ventilation is adequate? If it's not quite doing the job, you could try adding baffles to the back and sides of the hood.

If you are talking about Reichenbach (coe 96) Czar Blue, it is a green and works up the same color as the rod. It is a non-reactive glass and is one of my favorite greens :)

I have one and run it on a 5 lpm oxycon. I know it's limited by oxygen, but it's enough for me right now. I'll probably add another concentrator at some point.
