I also come to lampwork from large-scale offhand glassblowing. The lampwork books and demos I've seen show people making wineglasses and other holloware at the lamp - so it's definitely do-able.

I think you can get a sepia-toned image by firing/fusing with regular black laser toner - but I'm pretty sure regular...
