Do you know that it is 100% good quality brass like what glass imprint tools are made from? Maybe passing it through the flame a few times would take care of it (with good ventilation of course!)

"pastel" is just another way of saying solid color (not opalino or transparent) So "Pastel Ink Blue" is the same as "Ink blue".

Personally I prefer brass, especially when I'm working with very stiff glass. Brass seems to retain it's resale value better also, if you aren't sure you're going to love the press.
