I have discovered that there are 2 types of scorpion torches out there.
The torch face on mine is all one piece, the holes for the tubes are drilled out of
of one piece of metal. They also make scorpions that have the cricket part as
a separate unit in the middle. The one's like mine are what they made first,
and then they modified them because production was more effecient.
At least that's what I understand. Now I wonder, those of you getting the
embers on the face, what kind do you have?
On another note, I purchased a second regalia. When I hooked it up I
noticed that I was getting leaking around the connection at the place you
connect your hose up. Then I looked at the one I already had, and it was
leaking too. Today my special connector to wye them together came,
and after hooking that up, no leaks at all. And boy, what a difference
I get now. I have not melted any glass, I will do that tomorrow and
report in if I get any embers.
One thing for sure, I have had to try hard to work farther up in the flame.
If I get close I get embers just like that. Today I worked with just
one of my regalia's and stayed farther up from the flame, and got
almost no embers. I really think it's splashback, from the heat of
the object I am melting. Kind of anoying, but I like the torch.
So, those of you with embers...what kind of scorpion face do you have?
