I have had a lot of glass that is shocky and has popped and hit me on the neck hands and arms, my son won't come around when I am starting a new rod LOL. Once I stuck my right hand into the flame for a second sort of brushed the flame, took several weeks to heal. I had dropped something and was trying to save it. LOL now I don't try to save anything.
