I've had the usual flying glass mini-burns, but the worst ones have been when I've picked up a hot mandrel or hot piece of glass without thinking.
The one that gave me the second-degree burns was when I picked up the wrong end of a boro rod that had just been in the flame -- ouch ouch ouch!
These days, my "hot spots" tend to me when I lean my arm against a press or mold that is hot. One day I will clean off my worktable enough so that these are out of the way of my arm...
