Hey, Obsidian ~ welcome to the forum! Sorry I did not see your question earlier.

For ventilation issues, you may want to look at this thread:

The very best semi-portable vent solution I have seen is described in detail here:

If you have not already purchased the Fireworks kit, I would not do so! The torch is supposed to be very poor quality, the bead release is bad news and the glass included in the kit is also of very questionable quality. As far as I can tell, it doesn't include any type of meaningful eye protection. You can do way better for less money!

What you really need: A basic torch (Hothead is good and should last you for years), a lb or 2 of 104 glass in basic colors, and some decent didymium glasses to cut the sodium flare. This will protect your vision and allow you to see the glass clearly even when it's in the flame. You'll need some bead mandrels (#304 stainless steel welding rod is the standard). Your local welding shop can sell you that for a very low price, and they might even cut it into shorter lengths. 8" or 9" lengths work great.)

My suggestion ~ join "Lampwork Tips and Tricks" and "Lampwork Supply Destash" both of FB. Those are both very active groups and you're likely to find folks who may have spares of all the supplies you need. The Supply group is ONLY for purchasing supplies, so don't ask questions there or you might get bumped off the group.

Good luck!

Jo
