I photograph in a room with no windows and no other light source but a single 13 watt light that is about 18 inches from the beads. The light can move as needed to minimize hot spots on the beads. Use manual white balance and a tripod. I mostly keep the camera aperture at f8 and shutter speed of 4. Results are pretty consistent.
