I suspect I know how she did it, because it happened to me on an accident. Hopefully you'll see how Amber's tut can send you off into other directions. 
At the time of this posting, I had not read her tutorial yet. But looking at it, yes. This is how I got that transparent look. FWIW: it's dichro under Gaia, under Amber's tutorial (sort of). |
