How do Styx differ from other dichroic products on the market? Well, first of all, they practically eliminate scumming and burnout. Because they are made from flattened rods, the sides and top are still rounded. When heating your glass on the uncoated side, the rounded shape make it almost impossible for your torch flame to lick around and hit the dichroic coating. So, Voila! No Burnout!. Also, when you apply your glass, dichro side DOWN, it is already encased with the rounded mass of glass from the rod, so it saves you a step. All you need do is marver it a little or tap it down with a tool and you'll have great dichro securely added and protected.

I really love this photo, but it must be the flash or something that made it all look so intense!! The rods are a transparent light green, and in reflected light look subtle and sparkly. Still, this was such a pretty shot I thought I'd include it….
