Thanks for all the replies . I think I was making them hollow because I was making some functional glass art and using tubing. I wasn't sure if the different cooling rate of glass and metal of the screws would cause them to crack even when properly annealed in kiln. Funny that you mentioned bumping a hollow one and shattering it on the floor as one fell onto the concrete garage floor the morning I took them out of the kiln , but it literally bounced like 5 times and didn't break. I will definitely try the 8-32 stainless steel screws and make them from solid boro glass. Thanks for the link to the inserts page too

I would assume Mina that you use all thread or are you using screws with bead release on the threads of a screw that has a head?
