Hi Beatrix, I am not entirely sure if it is or isn't functioning properly because I'm only going by advice that there should *never* be a loud "POP" noise while using it. I just know that on a few occasions I have gotten it to pop. I just thought it was normal and ignored it (I mean, after the initial jump of fright! ) but have since been told otherwise.
