The truth is, I really don't know
It would be a challenge to make this piece in soft glass, but I'm sure it can be done. You would definitely need a kiln that you could put part in while you were working on another part. In general, glass is glass and I know all the parts can be made in soft glass. It would probably just take some extra caution to keep everything warm to prevent cracking...oh...and a lot less heat
