Most of the better resperators use changeable filters depending on what your working with.
Glass dust from cutting and grinding or enameling are fairly large compared with chemical fumes from acid etching or fumes from paint or glue.
The larger company's have a chart or guide for what filter to use with what material.
For torch work make sure the eye ware fits over the mask when working.
